Announcement: Deadline to File Request for Public Assistance for Hurricane Ida is April 4th 2022

The Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security is reminding eligible Applicants’ of the deadline to file a Request for Public Assistance for FEMA disaster assistance under Major Disaster Declaration DR-4629-CT (TS Ida). Tropical Storm Ida impacted Connecticut on 1-2 September 2021 and was declared for Individual Assistance on 30 October 2021. On 3 February President Biden amended the Declaration to include FEMA Public Assistance for Fairfield and Litchfield Counties.

State agencies, municipal governments, special district governments, and tribal organizations as well as certain private non-profit organizations that provide a critical service such as Education, Utility, Emergency or Medical, or non-critical but essential social service to the general public who own or operate facilities located within Fairfield or Litchfield Counties and sustained damages or costs as a direct result of T.S. Ida may be eligible for FEMA assistance under this program.

The deadline for filing a Request for Public Assistance (RPA) under DR-4629-CT is 4 April 2022.

Applicants who already have an account established in the FEMA Grants Portal can submit an RPA directly through that portal. Applicants who do not already have a Grants Portal Account are encouraged to contact the DEMHS Public Assistance program staff at demhs.pa@ct.gov for assistance. It is important that all eligible applicants submit a RPA for this event before the deadline to file expires on 4 April 2022.
