Suspicious Activity Reporting
Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) are critical in effectively identifying and mitigating potential attacks. The timely reporting of SARs may have a direct impact on the safety and security of Connecticut. The public is encouraged to report suspicious behavior or criminal activity to CTIC via the CTSafe mobile application or on the web form, both of which allow users to submit tips anonymously. In accordance with CTIC’s privacy policy, only SARs with potential criminal or terrorism related activity are processed.
Submit a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR)
A Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) portal has been developed in order to aid law enforcement officials and the public in the reporting of potentially suspicious activity. A Nationwide SAR training initiative has been developed to increase the effectiveness of local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement and public safety professionals and other frontline partners in identifying, reporting, evaluating, and sharing pre-incident terrorism indicators to prevent acts of terrorism.
If the reporting portal is unavailable, please call the HLS Tips line at (1-866-457-8477).
Homeland Security (HLS) Tip Line
The general public and officials are encouraged to report information concerning suspicious or criminal activity potentially related to terrorism using the Homeland Security (HLS) Tips Line. The information will be forwarded to the Connecticut Intelligence Center (CTIC), which may be forwarded to the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) or to the Homeland Security Operations Center (HSOC) if warranted.
A 24/7 Toll-free tips line, which allows the citizens of Connecticut a single point of contact to report suspicious incidents or suspected acts of terrorism.
TIPS Line: 1-866-HLS-TIPS (1-866-457-8477)
