
HARTFORD — The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection’s Food and Standards Division (DCP) is warning the public that Chile King LLC of Norwalk is recalling seven flavors of sauce that contain undeclared soy.
Customers who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy are vulnerable to serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if affected products are consumed.
Flavors included in the recall are:
- Kansas City Style BBQ sauce
- Apple Pie BBQ sauce
- Bourbon Peach with Habanero BBQ Sauce
- Maple Bacon Chipotle BBQ Sauce
- Rum and Pineapple BBQ Sauce
- Cranberry Orange Reaper Sauce
- Louisiana Swamp Mop Sauce
The affected sauces can be identified through the labeled flavor displayed on the glass jar, weighing 12 fl oz (354.88 mL).
The recalled products were distributed through Hand Made Hub in Middletown, CT, and The B. Hive in Burlington, CT. The product has also been sold at farmers markets, events, and festivals in Connecticut and New York.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
Consumers who have purchased sauces from Chile King LLC are urged to return them to a place of purchase for a full refund.
