Food Safety Warning/Recall Notice: Bread manufactured at Roly Poly Bakery and Sold At Several Connecticut Grocery Stores Contains Undeclared Eggs

Roly Poly Bakery has initiated a voluntary recall for the product

HARTFORD — The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Food, Standards and Product Safety Division (DCP) is warning the public that bread products sold at several Connecticut grocery stores contained eggs, which was not disclosed on the product label.

Affected products were sold prior to 04/11/2024. The product is 20 ounce loaves of Multigrain Bread.

The bread products were sold at:

  • Polmart, New Britain CT
  • New Britain Market Place, New Britain CT
  • Bernat’s Polish Meat Products, Chicopee MA
  • Golemo Market, Worcester MA

The product was manufactured by Roly Poly Bakery in New Britain. Roly Poly has issued a voluntary recall for the product, and grocery stores that carry the product have been instructed to remove it from shelves.

Consumers with an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs should not consume the product and seek medical assistance immediately if they experience a medical emergency. No illnesses have been reported to DCP to date.

Customers who have purchased these products should dispose of it or bring the product back to the point of sale for a full refund.
