WHAT: Offsite Naloxone Prescribing Event and Training

DCP began certifying offsite prescribing events last spring, and since then there have been 55 events, and 338 doses of naloxone prescribed. DCP is able to extend a pharmacy’s license to an offsite location for a limited time in order for them to work in conjunction with community based organizations to put on these educational events, and prescribe naloxone.
Attendees should bring their insurance card. Everything will be processed in the same way that it would be at your regular pharmacy.
Connecticut families who have questions about this process, or would like to know about events near them in the future may contact DCP’s Drug Control Division at dcp.drugcontrol@ct.gov, or by calling (860) 713-6065.
Those who wish to visit a pharmacy that prescribes naloxone can visit our map here to find a pharmacy in their community.
