New Home Construction and Home Improvement Reinstatement
New Law (Public Act 21-197) Effective July 1, 2022:
- All applicants must obtain general liability insurance of no less than $20,000 to be eligible for a new home construction or home improvement contractor registration. Applicants will be required to provide the name of their insurance provider and policy number in their application.
- All applications must be submitted online.
Reinstatement Prerequisites:
- A new home construction or home improvement registration may be reinstated, provided a completed reinstatement form and all applicable fees are submitted not later than three (3) years after the date of expiration of the registration. Any such reinstated registration shall expire on the next succeeding March 31st.
- All Corporations, Limited Liability Companies, Limited Liability Partnerships are required to hold an active Certificate of Good Standing with the Connecticut Secretary of the State. You may check the status of your entity online at www.sots.ct.gov.
