Salmon Brook Pond is located between a shopping center and a condominium complex in the center of town with lawn around the pond’s edges. This 1-acre pond had high turbidity but supported growth of dense submerged plants in the shallow water around its edges during our August 2005 survey. Aquatic plant diversity was low. Growth of western waterweed (Elodea nuttallii) was lush all around the pond, and coontail (Ceratophyllum demersum) was collected from the southern end of the pond. The surface of the pond was covered by duckweed (Lemna minor). A filamentous alga also was growing on the surface.
