Rolling Ridge Pond, Norwalk - 2007
2007 Aquatic Plant Survey Map of Rolling Ridge Pond
Rolling Ridge Pond is a very small, private pond in the Rolling Ridge Condominium community. There is a foot bridge at the eastern edge, a wide dam along the western shore, and three evenly spaced fountains between them. The fountains aid in controlling algae populations, and other management efforts have included herbicide treatments and an electric algae killer.
Our July 2007 survey of the pond found only yellow water lily (Nuphar variegata). It was found growing in distinct patches around most of the pond. A planktonic algal bloom was noted at the time of the survey.
