Hospital Reservoir #3 is located in Middletown, CT and is one of several reservoirs owned by the Connecticut Valley Hospital. The reservoir is 5.9 acres in size and is about 5.5 meters (18 feet) deep at its deepest point. The reservoir is surrounded by wooded areas except for the southern end which is spanned by a road and the northern tip which is adjacent to a field.

Our September, 2009 survey found eight species of aquatic plants none of which were invasive. Humped bladderwort (Utricularia gibba)was the most abundant and occurred throughout reservoir in mainly small patches. A large patch occurred on the western side. Other native species included golden hedge-hyssop (Gratiola aurea), spikerush (Eleocharis species), low watermilfoil (Myriophyllum humile), and snailseed pondweed (Potamogeton bicupulatus). All of these were found in small patches along the shore except for snailseed pondweed which was found only one small patch on the western side.
