Crystal Lake is a small, shallow body of water measuring 5.5 acres. It is located within a park containing both lawn and forest.
Emergent species dominated the northeastern and northwestern portions of the lake. The middle of the lake was covered in dense stands of white water lily (Nymphaea odorata) and common bladderwort (Utricularia macrorhiza). A large patch of common duckweed (Lemna minor) was observed in the northwestern side of the lake, and smaller patches were found throughout the lake. In the southeastern portion of the lake common bladderwort, watershield (Brasenia schreberi), white water lily, and spotted pondweed (Potamogeton pulcher) were found only along the shoreline.
