The eastern portion of the Branford Supply Pond is a 17-acre body of water owned by the Town of Branford and located within the Supply Pond Preserve. It is separated from the western portion of the pond by a culvert under a road. The western portion of the lake was not accessible by boat and was not surveyed. The eastern portion of Branford Supply Pond is bordered on its western, northern, and eastern sides by roads, and there are no residential structures along the shoreline. Boats without a motor or sail are allowed in the eastern pond. 

Our August 2005 survey found the most widespread plant species was coontail (Ceratophyllum demersum), which was found in all areas of the pond with the exception of the southern area where the water was the deepest. Great duckweed (Spirodela polyrhiza) was restricted to small patches within the northwestern end of the pond. Several patches of watershield (Brasenia schreberi) were observed along the edge of the pond's southern portion of the lake. Yellow water lily (Nuphar variegata) and white water lily (Nymphaea odorata) were observed in patches along the edge of the entire lake. The invasive Eurasian watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum) was found as several patches in the northwestern and southeastern parts of the pond.
