Attorney General Tong Statement on SCOTUS Rejection of Texas Election Suit

(Hartford, CT) – Attorney General William Tong issued a statement following the U.S. Supreme Court rejection of the Texas lawsuit seeking to overturn election results in four states critical to President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.

“The U.S. Supreme Court slapped down the seditious Texas suit. The court saw this suit for what it was—a shameful legal coup with zero basis in fact or law. The rule of law continues to reign in America. It is now time for all to accept the results of this free and fair election and to fully embrace the transfer of power. Enough,” said Attorney General Tong.

Attorney General Tong joined a coalition of 23 attorneys general Thursday urging the court to reject the Texas request.
