Attorney General Tong Statement on Little Sisters of the Poor Decision

(Hartford, CT) – Attorney General William Tong issued the following statement on this morning’s Supreme Court decision in Little Sisters of the Poor v. Pennsylvania.

“Today’s decision is extremely disappointing and will negatively impact the health care of tens of thousands of women across the country,” Attorney General Tong said. “The Trump Administration has weaponized the rule-making process in their war on women and the Affordable Care Act and put the health and well-being of millions of Americans at risk. Religious expression is not an excuse to discriminate against or deny basic health coverage to your employees.”
