Statement from Attorney General Jepsen
About UConn’s NCAA Championship Win
Attorney General George Jepsen today issued the following statement about the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship. The University of Connecticut Huskies took home their eighth national title with a 93-60 win last night over the University of Louisville Cardinals. Attorney General Jepsen had a friendly wager with Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway on the game. The stakes were Connecticut wine v. Kentucky ham.
“I congratulate the UConn women champions for an outstanding finish to their season. Louisville women made a heroic run and should be proud their incredible achievement. Nevertheless, I will enjoy the ham, with thanks to my colleague, General Conway."

"Connecticut joins me in recognizing both these exceptional teams, and their coaches, for what they were able to accomplish, especially Geno Auriemma. We all look forward to next season. Go UConn!”
