Attorney General George Jepsen has named Perry Zinn Rowthorn of West Hartford as Deputy Attorney General for the state of Connecticut.

Zinn Rowthorn will succeed current Deputy Attorney General Nora Dannehy, who will depart later this month. He currently serves as the Associate Attorney General for Litigation. Current Associate Attorney General for Administration and Management Margaret Q. Chapple of Granby will assume the position of Associate Attorney General for Litigation.

“Both Perry Zinn Rowthorn and Peggy Chapple have provided dedicated service to state of Connecticut and this office for many years,” said Attorney General Jepsen. “As Associate for Litigation, Perry has brought critical and thoughtful oversight to the office’s litigation practice. Time and again, Peggy Chapple has proved herself a capable and intelligent litigator and an effective leader. I have every confidence in their abilities, and I’m pleased to name them to these new roles within my administration.”

Zinn Rowthorn is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law. He joined the Office of the Attorney General in 1999 and has served as Associate Attorney General for Litigation since 2009. He previously served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection, Public Safety and Special Litigation departments.

“I deeply appreciate the opportunity and honor to assist the Attorney General’s successful work on behalf of the people of Connecticut,” Zinn Rowthorn said. “I look forward to working in this new role with him and our remarkable staff of lawyers and support personnel.  I am also profoundly indebted to Nora Dannehy for her leadership, mentorship and friendship, and I wish her all the best in her new position.”

Also a University of Connecticut School of Law graduate, Chapple joined the Office of the Attorney General in 1985 and served as head of the Public Safety and Employment Rights departments. As Associate Attorney General for Litigation, Chapple will oversee all litigation in federal and state courts and administrative agencies as well as all investigations and settlement activities.

Zinn Rowthorn and Chapple will begin in their new roles on Friday, October 18.
