Before you begin

Not sure if your website or mobile app is accessible? You can test it to make it easier for everyone to use!

In this high-impact training series you will learn the top 10 problem areas to test. Remember, finding and fixing issues in these areas will address up to 90% of the most serious accessibility issues.

Before you begin, you will need some tools. The following tools are license-free, so there are no fees, and they are easy to use. Follow the directions on each tool's website to add these to your computer.

  • ANDI accessibility tool - Developed by the Social Security Administration, this tool will be added to your browser's bookmark toolbar. ANDI will help you learn the details of items - or elements - on your web pages.
  • WebAIM Contrast Checker - A tool developed by WebAIM that is on a web page and will help you check the color contrasts on your web pages and documents. Add this page to your bookmarks in the browser.
  • Hemingway Readability Checker - A free, online tool from Hemingway that will test the reading level of your content. Add this page to your bookmarks in your browser.
