Overview
Caution when using AI to draft Complaints
AI tools can help with writing a state complaint, but they do not always get the law right or include everything required to begin an investigation. A complaint missing key information, including facts to support the concerns, cannot be processed for investigation, causing a delay. Anyone using AI to help write a complaint should read it carefully, check the facts, and make sure all required details are included. While not mandatory, we strongly encourage the use of our model form to ensure that all required information is included.
Please remember that personal information entered into AI tools may not stay private.
To learn more about using AI in special education dispute resolution, see the CADRE resource called “A Parent’s Guide to Using AI for Advocacy in Special Education” It is available in English, Spanish, and Korean.
