Career and Adult Education

Public Act No. 06-83 Section 18

Purpose: To advance the goals of An Act Concerning Jobs for the Twenty-first Century, enacted by the Connecticut General Assembly under Section 18 of Public Act No. 06-83, the Connecticut State Department of Education will establish the “Generation Next” pilot program to provide industry-based learning experiences for educators and students.

An Adult Education Initiative for Young Adults 2006-2007

Purpose: For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007, the Department of Education shall establish a competitive grant program for an adult education initiative for young adults. The Department shall award grants to provide for new and unique methods of educating young adults entering adult education.

Career and Technical Education Teacher Preparation Tech Prep Program 2006-2007      [DOC]

Purpose: To encourage the development of six year career and technical education programs that combine secondary and postsecondary programs which lead to a minimum of a four-year bachelor's degree in a career and technical education teacher preparation field pursuant under the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 1998, Public Law No. 105-332, Title II.

Learn and Serve America K-12 School-Based Programs Grant 2006-2009     [DOC]

Purpose: Learn and Serve America K-12 School-Based Program is a subtitle of the National and Community Service Trust Act. Learn and Serve America K-12 School-Based Program supports school-based service-learning initiatives for school-aged youth.
