Connecticut State Department of Education Introduces an Updated Connecticut Learning Hub for the Upcoming 2022-2023 School Year

(HARTFORD, CT) – The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) is pleased to launch the first update of the Connecticut Learning Hub for the 2022-2023 school year. The Connecticut Learning Hub is a place for students, families, and educators to access high quality supplemental resources that accelerate learning in the classroom and advance equity within our educational system.
The updated hub contains eight content area “spokes” with resources, including K-12 Model Curricula, Social Emotional Learning, Family Learning, Summer Learning, Virtual Content Learning, Student Centered Learning, Educator Learning, and Collaborative Learning. Some new and updated resources include model curricula and standards, organized and vetted research for teachers, and short video clips that introduce each of the content areas. Also new to each content area is a streamlined webpage design and branding that makes it easier for users to find and access each resource.
"By gathering educational resources and organizing them into one, free, centralized and accessible space, we can work to bridge the gap in education. Each student now has access to the same supplemental resources, regardless of district,” said Education Commissioner Charlene Russell-Tucker.
"Our goal is to accelerate learning and advance equity for learners. By updating the Connecticut Learning Hub to contain more relevant, accessible and user-friendly resources, it is our hope that all students will feel empowered to take ownership of their education,” said Chief Academic Officer Irene Parisi.
The CSDE first launched the Connecticut Learning Hub for the 2020-2021 school year in response to a growing need to access supplementary teaching resources from any location. The CSDE has taken a collaborative approach in the design of these resources by including educational and community partners in its design. This ensures that all content will remain current, relevant, and future forward in design.
