(Hartford, CT) - Today, the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) released the final version of the Connecticut Standards for Remote Learning for Grades 9-12 beginning in the 2022/2023 school year. The CSDE in collaboration with the entire Lamont Administration remain committed to ensuring our students get the highest quality education possible.

“The Connecticut Standards for Remote Learning for Grades 9 through 12 represent a collective voice comprised of diverse input and research from numerous professionals, educators, students, and more,” said Education Commissioner Charlene M. Russell-Tucker. “It is through collaboration amongst these stakeholders and the CSDE that produced this exemplary resource to guide school districts in the potential design of remote learning programs in grades 9 through 12 next year and into the future.”

The standards and guidance were informed by local data, significant stakeholder input, and a review of national standards, as well as the State Board of Education approved educational standards for content, programs, and effective integration of technology and evidence-based practices.

Public Act 21-46 “An Act Concerning Social Equity and the Health, Safety and Education of Children” tasked the CSDE with:

PA 21-46 also allows local boards of education to authorize remote learning for students in grades 9-12, beginning July 1, 2022, in accordance with the standards.
