The federal Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 1998 established the Patrick Leahy Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP). A U.S. Department of Justice (US DOJ) initiative, the BVP provides funding for reimbursement of allowable body armor purchases eligible jurisdictions make for law enforcement agencies. Eligible jurisdictions include towns, cities, villages, boroughs, parishes, counties, states, and Indian tribes.

 

To assist interested law enforcement agencies and jurisdictions, the Office of Policy and Management Criminal Justice Policy and Planning Division (OPM CJJPD) has created this webpage to post information regarding the federal BVP program.
