Overview

The Veterans Home appreciates the support and devotion of its dedicated volunteers.

Volunteer services are provided by individuals and groups.

Volunteers complete an application process and are certified for patient contact upon completion of training and orientation classes.  Classes are scheduled quarterly.

To assist us in matching your interests with our needs, please fill out our "Survey of Volunteer Interests Form" and send in with your application.

Individual Volunteer Activities

  • Assistance with recreation programs such as table games, bingo, art and music therapy.
  • Individual visits, reading to veterans, wheelchair escort to activities, and other individual veteran activities.
  • Pet therapy with volunteers and their certified pet therapy dogs visiting with veterans.
  • Clerical and organizational volunteers who help with events and programs throughout the year.

Group Volunteer Activities
Veterans and Community Groups also provide important recreational opportunities for our veterans.  Groups conduct Bingo games, card nights, picnics and other activities throughout the year for the veterans in the Heathcare Center and for the resident veterans in the Residential Facility.
