Opioid Family Education Support Groups (OEFS)

Are you struggling with a loved one’s drug use? Come find support while effectively learning how to support your loved one.

Community Renewal Team (CRT) offers a free weekly support and opioid education group for anyone dealing with a loved one’s drug use. You can attend in person or online!

Opioid Education and Family Support Groups (OEFS) are available for adult and young adult (age 16 and older) family members and loved ones of individuals who are or were misusing opioids (including heroin).

When you join these meetings, you will receive:

  • Support
  • Education
  • Narcan Training

In-person meetings are held in both Middletown and Hartford, Connecticut.

  • Western Connecticut Mental Health Network - Family Support Programs:
    • Family Support Night, 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month, 5:00 pm-6:30 pm at Catholic Charities, 24 Grassy Plain Street, Bethel, CT 06801 (203-748-0848).
    • Multifamily Groups, 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month, 3:00 pm-4:30 pm, Hope Room, 95 Thomaston Avenue, Waterbury, CT 06702.
    • Family Night, held every 3 months, date announced, 5:00-7:00 pm, Drop-In Center, 95 Thomaston Avenue, Waterbury, CT 06702.
