         STATE POLICE MAKE NARCOTICS & INTERFERRING  ARREST
   On 12/21/11, Detectives from the State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force obtained a search and seizure warrant from New Haven Superior Court as part of a narcotics investigation to search 280 Winthrop Avenue in New Haven.
   Narcotics Detectives received search warrants to search two apartments in buildings #3 and #5. The search warrants were executed simultaneously.  The occupant in apartment #5, Tomas Torres, DOB 11/9/57, attempted to flee out of the window of the apartment upon police entry. 

   
Narcotics Detectives were visibly identifiable and had announced “POLICE” as they entered the apartment to be searched.  Upon entry into the apartment, Narcotics Detectives struggled with accused Torres as he was attempting to flee out the window of the apartment.  Troopers pulled Torres back into the apartment from the window. Torres was not compliant and continued to attempt to assault the Detectives during the struggle.


   Accused Torres suffered minor injuries from the struggle. Torres was transported by Ambulance for treatment to a local hospital. An additional criminal investigation was initiated for the attempted assault of the police. Detectives submitted arrest warrant applications to Superior Court for the arrest of Torres regarding the narcotics case and the attempted assault case.

   Arrest warrants were issued by Superior Court for the arrest of Torres.

   On 12/28/11 at approximately 9:15 a.m. State Police Narcotics Detectives located Tomas Torres at his residence and took him into custody on the two arrest warrants.

ARRESTED: Torres. Tomas   DOB: 11/9/57

CHARGES:  Interfering with a police officer
               Criminal attempt to assault a police officer
               Sale of narcotics 
               Sale of narcotics within 1500’ of a school.

   Torres was processed and held on a $300,000 court set bond. He will appear in Superior Court GA # 23 New Haven on 12/29/11.
