16 Year Old Victim's Body Recovered From Housatonic River

     On 06/16/09 shortly after 2:00p.m. a 911 call was received by State Police reporting that a young man had failed to surface at Salisbury falls on the Housatonic River in Salisbury.  Emergency personnel including State Police, Local volunteer firefighters, and other volunteers responded to conduct an extensive search of the river both from the ground and in the air for the victim. Searchers were not able to locate him and the search was suspended. 

     Today 06/22/09 shortly after 7:00 a.m.  State Police Troop-B was notified that two civilians spotted what they believed to be a body floating on the Housatonic River near the Salisbury/Cornwall line.  Fire personnel and State Police Troopers responded and did retrieve the deceased body from the water.

     The deceased male victim recovered from the river has been identified as 16 year old KAELAN PATON  DOB: 1/6/93, who was reported missing on 06/16/09.

     The Office of the Chiefs State Medical Examiner will conduct a post mortem examination of the deceased to determine the manner and cause of death.
