DDS "Employment First" Kick Off
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) will host an “Employment First” kickoff on May 23, 2008 in Hartford, Connecticut. Held at the NEAT Marketplace, “Employment First” is about the vision of making employment the first priority for people with disabilities.
The morning program will include presentations by DDS Commissioner Peter H. O’Meara, Deputy Commissioner Kathryn du Pree and speakers from State Employment Leadership Network (SELN), Connect-Ability, Connecticut’s Medicaid Infrastructure Grant, Association of Persons in Supported Employment (APSE) and other various employers.
In addition to the program that runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., a variety of employment information and resources will be available to session participants. Registration is limited to 200 people.
On 5/23/08 from 9:00-12:30 DDS will host an "Employment First" kickoff at the NEAT Marketplace in Hartford, CT. “Employment First” is about the vision of making employment the first priority for people with disabilities. Come learn about the CT DDS Employment First vision and how the vision will be implemented over the coming years. Presenters will include the DDS Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner and speakers from SELN (State Employment Leadership Network), Connect-Ability (CT’s Medicaid Infrastructure Grant), APSE (Association of Persons in Supported Employment), and employers. A variety of written employment related information and resources will also be available to session participants at Employment Resource Tables. This is a very exciting event and we are expecting a great turn out. We are limited to 200 people so register early!
