About the Medicaid Operations

The Medicaid Operations is responsible for managing the Medicaid operations of the department and obtaining the maximum federal reimbursement possible for eligible Department of Developmental Services (DDS) programs.  The Unit is responsible for enrolling individuals in Medicaid programs administered by DDS and setting rates and billing for these services.  Applications for Waiver services are forwarded to the Unit from the regions and are reviewed for regulatory compliance by unit staff.  Medicaid Operations staff work with the regions to maintain Medicaid eligibility.  The unit develops rates for programs, Targeted Case Management and the Birth to Three program.  The unit works with providers and the Department of Administrative Services Financial Services Center on a monthly attendance reporting process used to document services and to submit claims for federal reimbursement.  The unit prepares revenue reports and revenue projections.  Training is provided to DDS and private provider staff on Medicaid and other benefits.
