CONSUMER PROTECTION REMINDS THE PUBLIC: DURING DAYLIGHT SAVINGS LIQUOR PERMITTEES MAY NOT STAY OPEN FOR AN EXTRA HOUR

Friday, November 3rd, 2017 – The Department of Consumer Protection (DCP)’s Division of Liquor Control wants to remind the public that when we turn back the clocks from 2:00am to 1:00am on Sunday morning, November 5th, bars and restaurants do not get an “extra hour”. At that time, no more sales, consumption, or presence of alcoholic beverages is allowed in these bars or restaurants according to state liquor regulations.

“We want businesses and consumers to use alcohol safely and responsibly,” said Consumer Protection Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull, “That’s why we want everyone to be aware of rules under state law in order to limit violations, and ultimately to protect public health and safety.”

Those who have questions, or wish to file a complaint regarding a liquor permittee in the state my contact the Liquor Control Division by emailing dcp.liquorcontrol@ct.gov, or by calling (860) 713-6210.
