Toys R Us Recalls "Imaginarium Activity Center" Due to Choking Hazard

HARTFORD, May 31 -- The Department of Consumer Protection is advising  Connecticut consumers about a new toy recall from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Toys "R" Us Inc. of Wayne, N.J.. 
 
About 24,000 “Imaginarium 5-Sided Activity Centers” are being recalled because small wooden knobs attaching the xylophone keys to the end can detach, causing a choking hazard to young children.
 
While Toys "R" Us has received eight reports of the knobs detaching, injuries have yet been reported to the company.
 
The Imaginarium 5-Sided Activity Center has two triangle-shaped ends with a wooden multi-colored xylophone on one and a mirror on the other. The three sides are square and include moveable block letters, rotating gears and sliding shapes. They were sold exclusively at: Toys "R" Us stores nationwide and online via www.toysrus.com Opens in a new window Opens in a new windowfrom August 2009 through September 2010 for about $25.
 
The name "Imaginarium" appears in a blue, oval-shaped logo underneath the mirror on one end. The second 'i' in the logo is dotted with a shooting star. 
 
Consumers should immediately stop using the product, move it out of the reach of young children and return it to a Toys "R" Us store for a refund or store credit.
