Electrical License Application Path - Contractor

APPLYING FOR AN ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE

Refer to License Types Scopes to determine the proper license to apply for:

• E-1  
• C-5 
• C-7 
• L-1 
• L-5 
• T-1 
• PV-1  

Electrical Contractor License Requirements and Applications:

• CT Journeypersons Applying for a Contractor's License
  • Must have held a CT Journeyperson's license for a total of two years.
    

• Equivalent Out of State License Holders Applying for a CT Contractor's License
  • Equivalent on the job training and related instruction
  • Completion of equivalent apprenticeship in another state plus an additional two years of work history
  • Equivalent out of state license held
