FAQ

I can't find a pay code that I need to enter in Kronos?
Refer to the mapping table here. This will give you a list of all the codes you are familiar with in Core-CT and their equivalents in Kronos.

What will be used to clock in and out?
The State of Connecticut will be using both the biometric (finger touch) functionality at the clocks.  There is also the capability to clock-in/out from a mobile device or computer (lap top or workstation).

How do I enter Comp Time or Override Reason codes?
Those can be entered using Transfers. Labor Account Transfers will allow you to change where you are paid from such as specifying a different location or Override Reason Code. Work Rule Transfers will allow you to change the way you are paid such as entering Comp Time or Double Time on the timesheet. Refer to the job aid here for an example of a transfer.

What will happen if situations arise when staff have to work past their normal leave time?

Consistent with existing state procedures, a manager or supervisor must approve any alterations to your normal scheduled hours. The system will break out the overtime worked and the supervisor will need to approve this timesheet.

How do I enter Telecommuting time?
Refer to the job aid here for entering telecommuting time as an employee. The employee should be punching it using a transfer when they intend to telecommute.

What if I forget to clock in or out?
Reach out to your supervisor and inform them of the time you actually clocked in. You will also be able to add a comment to the timesheet to make sure that the supervisor can easily see the correction they need to make. Supervisors can refer the job aid here for how to make corrections.

If we notice errors in our CT-Time time sheet, who do we notify?
Employees should work with their Manager/Supervisor for corrections.

How do you request vacation time in CT-Time?  Will vacation be subject to supervisor approval?
Time off can be requested in the system through the request time off button. Instructions for creating this request can be found here.

Will the way I get paid change?
No.  The Office of the State Comptroller will continue to issue paychecks bi-weekly.

When an Employee clocks-in/out, how will they know if their time punch was accepted?
The CT-Time system will provide both visual and auditory signals in the form of a green light and a “beep” as each punch is successfully made.

What if I don’t want to use my fingerprint?
The CT-Time InTouch terminal “biometric” functionality does not collect nor store fingerprints.  After it scans your touch, it saves a numeric code.  It is not a fingerprint.  Employees may also use one of the other methods (mobile device or computer lap top or workstation where eligible).
