Zoning Issues in Connecticut

Link to the Recording

Decisions on what kind of buildings can be placed where and for what purpose are made at the municipal level in Connecticut. Restrictions like minimum lot or floor sizes, restrictions on multi-family dwellings, special permit requirements, and more are all ways that zoning codes can be used to prevent people from living within the town. The workshop will discuss these zoning regulations, discuss how they can be used to exclude, what reforms have been put in place, and what reforms are still necessary.
