ATTORNEY GENERAL TONG STATEMENT ON TEXAS V. U.S. ARGUMENTS

Attorney General William Tong released the following statement as a federal appeals court hears arguments today in Texas v. U.S

"The Trump Administration has declared war on the American healthcare system. From the onset, Texas v. U.S. was a partisan attack led by Texas and 17 other states designed to dismantle the Affordable Care Act. The healthcare of millions of Americans is on the line. Together with 21 other state attorneys general, we are standing in defense of cancer patients, millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions, pregnant women, people with diabetes, people under the age of 26 who are on their parent's insurance, and seniors like my 94-year-old grandmother who relies on the ACA for prescription drug benefits. The stakes couldn't be higher," said Attorney General Tong.
