ATTORNEY GENERAL TONG DENOUNCES TRUMP PLAN TO ROLLBACK METHANE REGULATIONS
(Hartford, CT) -- Attorney General William Tong today issued the following statement denouncing the latest Trump Administration plan to rollback regulation of methane emissions, one of the leading contributors to climate change.
"This proposal is so reckless that even the world's largest oil companies have reservations. That ought to tell you something. Methane is one of the top contributors to climate change and around the world smart nations are taking strategic steps to drastically reduce emissions. We need to invest now in clean, renewable energy and stop wasting our time on fights to extend the life of aging, dirty technology. I am in close coordination with state attorneys general across the nation and am considering all options to fight this harmful and baseless plan."
