AG Jepsen Names New Head of Employment Rights Department
Attorney General George Jepsen today announced that he has named Assistant Attorney General Erik T. Lohr as head of his office's Employment Rights Department.
Lohr succeeds former Assistant Attorney General Ann Lynch, who was recently confirmed as a judge of the Connecticut Superior Court. As department head, Lohr will oversee all matters before the Office of the Attorney General's Employment Rights Department, which defends state agencies and state officials in employment-related litigation and administrative complaints and provides legal advice and guidance to state agencies on employment issues.
"Erik is a talented attorney who has handled a number of significant cases during his years of service as an assistant attorney general in the Employment Rights Department," said Attorney General Jepsen. "I am confident that Erik has the exceptional leadership skills and the depth of legal knowledge and experience to lead this very important practice area within the Office of the Attorney General."

Lohr joined the Office of the Attorney General's Child Protection Department in 2008, and transitioned to the Employment Rights Department in 2011. He was previously a litigation associate with Tyler Cooper & Alcorn and served in the Appellate and Civil Litigation Bureaus of the Chief State’s Attorney’s office. He graduated from Thomas Edison State University in New Jersey, and earned his juris doctorate with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2002. He has served as an active member of the UConn Law adjunct faculty since 2008.
Prior to law school, Lohr served in the United States Navy, with active-duty assignments as a reactor operator aboard a fast-attack nuclear submarine and as a staff instructor at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit. Lohr and his family live in Granby.
