The Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection has provided notice to the Attorney General of an abnormal market disruption regarding the wholesale price of motor gasoline or gasohol. Pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. § 42-234, no seller of motor gasoline or gasohol shall sell, or offer to sell, an energy resource at an unconscionably excessive price between April 13, 2026, and May 13, 2026.

STATEMENT BY ATTORNEY GENERAL GEORGE JEPSEN:

INDEPENDENT MANAGEMENT AUDIT OF CL&P IS APPROVED

(HARTFORD) - “I am gratified at the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority’s speedy response to my request for a management audit of Connecticut Light & Power Co. The regulators agreed today (Tuesday) to add an independent management audit to the scope of their review of CL&P’s preparedness for and response to major outage events. I look forward to working through the PURA process to ensure that the audit is independent, broad and thorough.”

Note: The Attorney General requested an independent management audit of CL&P in a filing to PURA on Nov. 10.
