John C. Thomson is a healthcare, risk management and insurance executive with over 35 years of experience in the life & health, property/casualty, healthcare, and finance arenas. Mr. Thomson has significant experience in assessing risk exposures and risk financing alternatives; and developing innovative solutions. He has interacted extensively with boards of directors, CFO’s, and corporate risk managers. John has held several CEO and COO roles in his career. Most recently he served as CEO at HAI Group, a financial services firm focused on the pubic and affordable housing industries. Prior to that he served as the Deputy Insurance Commissioner, for the State of Connecticut. He also served as Chief Operating Officer at Oil Management Services Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda. Mr. Thomson received a Bachelor of Arts from The State University of New York and Master of Business Administration in finance and management from Rider University. He has also completed advanced study at Darden School, University of Virginia, and Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Rocco Mancini is a consultant with Marsh’s Captive Advisory Group. Rocco assists clients in the U.S. and globally with the feasibility and organization of single parent captives, as well as risk retention groups and Rent-A-Captives. Rocco also participates in captive strategic reviews for clients that already have captives. Rocco joined Marsh Captive Solutions in 2015. He has successfully assisted clients with determining the feasibility of new captive programs and performing strategic reviews to optimize existing captive programs. Prior to joining Marsh, Rocco was a multinational pooling and captive analyst with MetLife, Inc.


Bill Goddard – Insurtech investor

Bill Goddard is a seed-stage investor and mentor to a portfolio of insurance technology ventures.
Bill teaches the Insurance Solvency Regulation course at the University of Connecticut School of Law and participates in the UConn/University of Hartford InsurTech Venturing Course. He is the author of several law journal articles on insurance regulation and insolvency.
Previously, Bill practiced law at Bingham McCutchen and Day Pitney in the areas of insurance, reinsurance, insurance insolvency and insurance mergers & acquisitions. Prior to entering private practice, Bill served as a law clerk to the Hon. Jon O. Newman, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Prior to law school, Bill was an investment banker at JP Morgan & Co. and at Marsh & McLennan Securities Corporation, focusing on mergers and acquisitions within the insurance industry. Bill also co-founded, developed and sold a broadcasting company consisting of 19 radio stations located in New York and New England.
Bill earned an A.B. degree in Government from Dartmouth College and a Master of Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth. He also earned a J.D. with highest honors from the University of Connecticut.

Marcus has a long-standing experience in risk and insurance management in various industries. Before the founding of RYSKEX, Marcus was Head of the German MBA program in Munich, Germany. He is also a professor at ESCP Business School, Berlin, on innovation matters with a research focus on parametric solutions, blockchain technology and deep learning (AI). Previously, Marcus worked for Allianz SE, Marsh & McLennan Companies and completed his doctorate on captive insurance companies in cooperation with Munich Re America in New York City.
