Dr. Jia holds a PhD in mathematics from University of Minnesota, and has worked as a data scientist in both research and industry positions in biostatistics, insurance and marketing, and as an educator and administrator in higher education. She is currently the Director of Business Data Analytics and assistant professor in Barney School of Business at University of Hartford.

Brendan Shea
VP Business Performance Management, United Healthcare

Brendan Shea has been Senior Director of Data Analytics for United Healthcare for the past 10 years and has spent the last 30+ years in Analytics and Data roles in Insurance and Financial Services in Connecticut. He holds a bachelors in Philosophy from Trinity College.

Anthony Senseman
Co-founder and President, Q², University of Hartford

Anthony Senseman is a current Junior at the University of Hartford, majoring in Finance and Mathematics. He is also the Co-Founder and President of Q², a student-faculty research organization focusing on quantitative and qualitative research surrounding Quantitative Finance, Operations Research, and Business Analytics. This past summer Anthony was a Market Risk intern at The Hartford, where he was tasked forecasting financial market risks for The Hartford’s asset portfolio. Anthony is an avid problem solver with a passion for using data to make optimal risk-adjusted decisions.
