LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR BYSIEWICZ STATEMENT ON SENATE CONFIRMATION OF JUSTICE KAHN TO SECOND CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS

(HARTFORD, CT) - Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz released the following statement after the U.S. Senate confirmed Connecticut Supreme Court Associate Justice Maria Araújo Kahn to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit: 

“Justice Kahn has spent her life devoted to public service. From coming to the U.S. as a child to a distinguished career, Justice Kahn’s story is nothing short of inspiring. She is a highly skilled and respected jurist that will bring compassion and fairness to our federal court. This is a great loss for the Connecticut Supreme Court, but we know her experience is needed on the U.S. Court of Appeals – which will now be active majority women. We can’t thank her enough for the years of service to Connecticut and wish her well in this new opportunity.”
