(HARTFORD, CT) - Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz released the following statement regarding the passing of Larrye DeBear:
“Connecticut has lost a dedicated public servant and a brilliant political strategist with the passing of Larrye DeBear. After a bright career in media, Larrye went on to serve as press secretary to Governor Ella Grasso. I became friends with him during his time with Governor Grasso and greatly admired his work amplifying her message and supporting her in a time when it was unusual for a woman to occupy a high-ranking office.
Throughout his life, Larrye served as a mentor to so many – from town officials to state legislators, commissioners and more, he leaves a legacy in the many careers he’s touched. Larrye will be greatly missed, and my heart goes out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
