Lt. Governor Bysiewicz Statement on Passing of Bernie Sullivan

(HARTFORD, CT) – “I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Bernard “Bernie” Sullivan, former commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Public Safety and police chief of the Hartford Police Department, but also my former colleague,” said Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz. “During my time as a legislator, Bernie was a wonderful mentor, compassionate leader and role model. I extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends. He leaves a legacy of excellent public service to our state and Connecticut’s law enforcement community. We will miss him.”
