Benefits
The Connecticut Division of Scientific Services is developing a secure bidirectional interface that will allow law enforcement agencies to electronically exchange evidence related information with the laboratory through their agency Records Management System or secure portal. This modernization effort is designed to reduce paper-based workflows, improve data accuracy, and streamline communication between agencies and the lab.
Submit Electronically
Agencies initiate and complete submissions through their RMS or the DSS Laboratory Portal.
Secure Transmission
Submission data and documentation are securely transmitted to DSS and electronic receipts are returned.
Less Paper
Reduce reliance on paper submission forms and manual handling of incident reports. Final laboratory reports are transmitted electronically through the connected RMS or portal.
Less Trips
Additional or corrected documentation can be submitted without unnecessary return trips.
Improve Efficiency
Minimize duplicate data entry and streamline the submission process.
Better Accuracy
Reduce transcription errors and improve consistency of submitted information.
Transition Support
DSS staff are available to assist agencies with onboarding and questions.
