Troop L Re-Dedicates Memorial Plaque in Honor of Fallen Troopers
Litchfield, CT. (August 23, 2016): The men and women of Troop L-Litchfield and the Troop L Cadets held a re-dedication ceremony in honor of fallen Connecticut State Troopers LT. Thomas Carney, Trooper Jorge Agosto and Trooper First Class James Savage.
These troopers paid the ultimate sacrifice while, assigned to Troop L, courageously performing their sworn duties.
Today family members of the fallen troopers, numerous troopers from across the state, retired troopers and Colonels, police chiefs and local law enforcement took a moment to reflect on the loss, properly pay respect to the fallen troopers and their families and to say “thank you for your sacrifice”.
Through the dedication displayed by these fallen troopers and the tragedy bestowed upon them, a deep sense of pride which is unshakeable emerges. As shown by the young Troop L Cadets in attendance today, the fallen troopers sacrifice will never be forgotten, and as new generations of troopers are sworn to uphold the laws of Connecticut, they too will feel this pride.
The memorial plaque, which will be illuminated by an eternal blue light, will remind troopers from the past, present, and future that the path they have walked in, walk in now, or will walk in the future has been traveled before by very courageous individuals who refused to swerve from the path of duty.
