                              STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE SEX ASSAULT

   On Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at approximately 12:00 pm (noon) a brown/tan colored Ford Crown Victoria with blue/red flashing lights on the dashboard stopped and pulled over a green jeep in the area of Gorman St. and Lewis Street in the Town of Naugatuck.

   The male operator of the crown Victoria car appeared to possibly be a police officer. The male subject directed the female operator out of her vehicle.  The female operator reported that upon exiting the car that she was sexually assaulted by this male. The suspect was described as a white male, approx. 6'00" to 6'02", average build, blond curly hair swept to the side, a big bulbous nose, not overly tan, but not pale.  He was approx. late 20's early 30's, clean shaven with hairy blond arms.

   The suspect was described as wearing dark navy blue pants, navy blue polo shirt with breast pocket on left side, above the pocket words were embroidered in an arch "Naugatuck" and straight across below it was "police".  He had a white shirt underneath it.  He was wearing a watch on his left arm.  He had a utility belt with a flash light and a pouch on the left that appeared to be handcuffs. The suspect was wearing white Adidas sneakers and black frame sunglasses, with multi colored lenses. 

   The description provided by the victim does not match or resemble any member of the Naugatuck Police Department.  The vehicle is not a Naugatuck Police Vehicle.

   Anyone who may have ever encountered this suspect vehicle at any time in Naugatuck or at any location is asked to contact police.

   The Naugatuck Police Department and Waterbury State’s Attorney have requested that the State Police Central District Major Crime Squad conduct the criminal investigation into this incident.

   Connecticut State Police are asking anyone who may have observed the suspect or victim’s vehicles anywhere in the Gorman St and Lewis Street area of Naugatuck about noon time on 09/07/11 or anyone who may have any information regarding this investigation is asked to call the Connecticut State Police at Troop I at 203 393-4200 or 1-800-842-0200.  All calls will be kept confidential.
