WANTED PERSON APPREHENDED IN MASSACHUSETTS

Connecticut State Police developed information and leads as to the whereabouts of this accused.   Working with Mass Law Enforcement the accused (Cushard), was apprehended this afternoon in Agawam, Massachusetts. 

He was located and taken intocustody by Massachusetts Law Enforcement without incident.  Cushard will be held in Massachusetts to be arraigned in court and will be returned to Connecticut when released by the court in Massachusetts.  Cushard will then be charged in relation to his violation of probation warrant, as well as robbery charges.

                                          ** UPDATE **

The press announcements of the State Police search for this accused in this robbery case did generate public assistance and leads in this investigation.  These leads led to the actual location and apprehension of this accused on August 4, 2011. 

         On August 5, 2011, Robert Cushard (DOB: 02/25/74) of no certain address was presented in Westfield, Massachusetts District Court as a Fugitive From Justice where he waived extradition to Connecticut.

         Connecticut State Police Detectives responded to Massachusetts, took Cushard into custody and transported him back to Troop L in Litchfield.  Robert Cushard was formally arrested and charged with Violation of Probation with a court set bond of $16,000.

Cushard was also arrested and charged with Robbery 1^st Degree, Assault 1^st Degree and Larceny 4^th Degree for the armed robbery in New Hartford on August 2, 2011, with a bond of $250,000.

Robert Cushard was immediately arraigned at GA#18 in Bantam at 1400 hours on August 5, 2011, for both cases.
