                     STATEWIDE NARCOTICS TASK FORCE INVESTIGATION
                                   LEADS TO
 SEIZURE OF DRUGS & CASH, 

                                  CONDEMNING OF APARTMENT BUILDING

   On June 8, 2010, the State Police Statewide Narcotic Task Force - East Field Office and the Willimantic Police Department conducted a joint investigation. This investigation resulted in a narcotics-related search warrant being executed at 117 Union Street, 1st floor, Willimantic. 

   The investigation revealed that amount of illicit narcotics were being stored and sold from said residence. Two small children (ages 3 years old & 1 month old) were present during the execution of this search warrant. The Department of Children Families was on scene and took custody of the children. 

   The apartment was infested with rodents, did not have electrical power and contained a gas propane grill in the kitchen area.  An extension cord was run from the second floor apartment into this apartment for its electrical source. The Willimantic Building Department responded and immediately condemned this apartment serving the accused as well as the building’s owner with notice.

 

   The Statewide Narcotic Task Force – East Office is comprised of members from the State Police, the Groton Town, Groton City and Willimantic Police Departments

Seized: 120 bags of heroin packaged for sale, 4.1 grams cocaine, $873.00 US
