STATE POLICE TRUCK ENFORCMENT NABS FUGITIVE

Connecticut State Troopers continue to enforce all laws as they apply to Trucks and commercial operators on all of the roads and highways of Connecticut

On 08-11-2010 at approximately 1:22 am, a Trooper assigned to Commercial enforcement was conducting commercial motor vehicle enforcement on Interstate 91 Northbound, in the area of Exit 15.  The Trooper stopped a tractor trailer truck for an equipment violation.

During the course of his investigation, the Trooper determined that the operator, James E. Wilson, date of birth 01-05-1972, of 1630 Fordham Road, Dallas, Texas, was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Texas for Violation of Probation.

The warrant and extradition was confirmed with the Dallas, Texas Police Department.  And accused Wilson was taken into custody without incident and charged with Fugitive from Justice.  He is scheduled to appear at Connecticut Superior Court in Meriden (GA #7) on 08-11-2010.  He was held in lieu of a $250,000.00 bond.

In addition the Trooper conducted a complete inspection of the tractor trailer unit.

A total of 19 violations were discovered. This resulted in both the truck and trailer being placed “Out of Service,” and not able to continue on until repairs are completed. The trooper also issued an infraction ticket with fines that totaled $908.00

The State Police will continue this commercial enforcement operation in an effort to

enhance safety on the roads of Connecticut.
