STATE POLICE AT TROOP B MAKE ARREST IN SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE

   On 04-15-10, a woman came to Connecticut State Police Troop B in North Canaan to file a complaint regarding the sexual assault of her two young boys.  The assaults were reported to have occurred in North Canaan during the year 2008.

   The complainant indicated that the boys were assaulted by their swim instructor in 2008, while attending swim lessons in North Canaan.

   A criminal investigation into the allegation was initiated by the North Canaan Resident State Trooper and State Police Major Crime Detectives.  After an extensive two-month investigation, State police investigators developed information and leads that led them to submit an arrest warrant application to Superior Court for the arrest of the accused.

   An arrest warrant was issued by GA#18 for the accused in this case. On 06/18/10, the accused was taken into custody by State Police. He was transported to State Police, Troop B, where he was processed and held on bond.

CHARGES:   Sexual Assault, 1st degree, 53a-70

                 Risk of Injury, 53-21(a)(2).

   The accused is being held on a $275,000.00 bond. He will be arraigned at GA #18 on Monday 6/21/10.
