Heroin Investigation Leads To Arrest

On March 19, 2010, the State Police Statewide Narcotic Task Force  and Willimantic Police Department conducted a joint investigation which resulted in the below accused being found in the possession of illicit narcotics.  Upon attempting to take the accused into custody he attempted to flee the area by backing into a Willimantic Police Cruiser and discarding some of the narcotics out of the driver’s side window. Members of SNTF and Willimantic Police Department were able to apprehended the accused without incident and recover the discarded illicit narcotics.

The Statewide Narcotic Task Force – is comprised of members from the State Police, New London, Groton Town, Groton City, Putnam and Willimantic Police Departments

SEIZED:                 75 bags of heroin packaged for sale (13 grams)

                        $475.00 US Currency

ARRESTED:                Rafael Cerda (DOB 01/26/1983)
