Today 01/27/2010 at approximately 10:30 a.m. the State Police Central District Major Crime Squad served an active arrest warrant on accused Valentin Nicolai (D.O.B. 10/27/72) of 8 School House Road, Ellington, after an investigation into allegations that fraudulent documents had been submitted to the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection in an attempt to obtain an occupational license.
The investigation revealed that the accused bribed an examination proctor so that he would issue him a fraudulent passing score-sheet. The exam proctor was employed by a private company which had been contracted by the state to administer exams.
The accused surrendered himself to State Police at Troop H in Hartford where he was taken into custody for the charges of Bribery 53a-147 and Forgery 2nd Degree 53a-139.
The accused was processed and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond with a scheduled court date of 02/05/10 for GA-14.
